When I use it on my Mac, I just wrap the cable around the base or leg of the table, double the cable back through the loop, then secure it to my computer. I”m sure a more determined thief might still find a way to steal your laptop, but I bet if you give the investigating cop a description of a guy running down the street with a coffee shop table over his shoulder, they”ll nab the guy in no time.
If you don”t want to carry around any more gear than necessary, then consider a Laptop Alarm. I”ve never used one myself, but it sounds pretty effective.
Lastly, have you ever felt like this guy? To keep prying eyes from your material, try a privacy filter. The one from 3M seems like a solid product.
